NERVO keeps the beat
Summer assignment, their own record label, and first-time recording artists to their already long list of musical accomplishments. NERVO has been impoverished at work behind the scenes for many years as writers and producers for top pop artists such as Ke$ha and Kylie Minogue. The sisters also create their own second to none in harmony blend of tech-house DJ mixes and collaborate with some of the hippest DJs in club scenes worldwide. OMN caught up with Liv Nervo a few days before she set off on the Spears peregrination to find out how it all began.
Growing up in Australia, music was always a big part of the sisters’ lives.
“We started off singing when we were 16 years old while we were at grammar and then we started writing and our songs got a bit of love. About 5 years ago we had our first top 10 hit in the U.K. and then from that we started working with a girl from Nashville, called Ke$ha, who turned out to be a mega-illustrious in the U.S. Since then, our songs have done really well for us. We’ve had Kylie Minogue’s single and we had quite a big hit with David Guetta, featuring Kelly Rowland [formerly of Fortune's Child]. We wrote a song called “When Love Takes Over,” which went number one in 11 countries and it was a categorically good time for us. It won a Grammy, so we kind of just kept going with it and kept writing for other artists. We will remain to do that, even though right now we are focusing on our own music to put forth behind our own name and step out from behind the scenes at bit,” Liv Nervo explained.
