Does anyone commemorate when “Entertainment Tonight” actually covered entertainment, not gossip? I bet Britney Spears doesn’t. The talented gambol/pop singer, who appears Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center, 3601 South Broad St., Philadelphia, has been the blurry of more “ET” coverage than most Hollywood stars, but not for her music.
Certainly her personal life has had many ups and downs — whose hasn’t? — but her music profession has been solid, ever since she debuted as a teen vixen in the 1998 video for “...Baby One More Time.” Most of her singles throughout the next decade reached the top 30 and her first four albums went to No. 1 (selling more than 30 million copies).
Now Spears is back with her two shakes of a lamb's tail album in three years, “Femme Fatale.” The dance-oriented disc has gotten qualified reviews for its club sound, boasting the tunes “Till the World Ends,” “Keep back it Against Me,” “How I Roll,” “Big Fat Bass” and “(Drop Dead) Beautiful.”
