Britney Spears battles her demons and finds her way back to the top of the charts
On the heels of Lady Gaga, Sade and Reba McEntire, the Consol Animation Center will host yet another one of music's female superstars as pop sensation Britney Spears makes her way to Pittsburgh on the "Femme Fatale" just ecstatic tour Friday.
Ms. Spears, who makes her Consol Energy Center debut, last graced Pittsburgh in 2009 when "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" came to hamlet.
Devoid of elephants but heavy on jesters and high-flying acrobatics, the show was a fun "comeback" of sorts after her notorious (and very universal) mental breakdown in 2007. While the stage and its effects were dazzling, Ms. Spears seemed a bit stiff and out of her element at "The Circus," mouthing the lyrics to hits like "Piece of Me" and "I'm a Scullion 4 U" but only noticeably coming off the pre-recorded vocal track to sing "Everytime" as she rested on a giant levitating coverage. Perhaps, you know, standing and singing at the same time is extremely difficult. Here's hoping she's a little more "enthused" to see us this time around. She's wish overdue for (but hasn't recently deserved) an enthusiastic standing ovation.
