Selena Gomez Pays Tribute to Britney Spears With Medley Performance
The choir member appeared onstage atop a staircase singing a remixed and abridged version of Britney Spears’ debut smash hit, ‘…Cosset One More Time.’ Wearing a flowy dress with a glittery gold top and teal skirt, Gomez was escorted down the stairs by a bevy of dancers before exciting into Brit’s 1999 single ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy.’ Gomez showed off her playful side during this tune, delivering some vulgar and sassy dance moves.
Gomez also took on ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’ and the signature accompanying leap from Ms. Spears’ original video . The shrill violin melody from ‘Toxic’ gives way to Gomez’s interpretation of ‘Oops! …I Did It Again,’ and the teen pop songstress once again paid tribute to Britney by replicating her choreography from the ‘Oops’ video . Gomez then busted into ‘Toxic’ with a backwards of her hips, effortlessly hitting the high notes. She closed out the medley with ‘Hold It Against Me’ — our apologies for the warped audio during this part, as the corpulent bass overrides Gomez’s voice in the fan-recorded video.
