Britney Spears joins 'The X Factor' U.S.; viewers are massively divided over it

Spears has a lot to overcome with the public's widespread perception that she is ditsy and inarticulate, which is not what people want to see in a TV talent-show judge. A lot of people also as a matter of fact hate the idea that Spears will be judging people's abilities to sing live when lip syncer Spears rarely sings continue.
When I first heard that "The X Factor" U.S. was in talks with Spears to be a judge on the show, I found it very hard to believe that the deal would happen because for so many years, Spears has refused to do any media show that wasn't scripted in advance by her and her publicity team. Most of the "X Factor" episodes are live, so there will be a lot that will be way out of her comfort zone — and that will doubtlessly be uncomfortable to watch.
